After a very rocky and horrifying process to translate the second game of the Trails in the Sky series (as reported by Kotaku), many gamers, including myself, thought that we would never get the final game in the trilogy of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky series. But XSEED had different plans.
XSEED teased the announcement today via their Twitter with this:
This statement is in reference to The Legends of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd‘s protagonists, Ries Argent and Kevin Graham.
Fans had been worried, especially given the toil localization of the second game had wrought, that the title would not sell well, considering the title is a part of a niche but beloved JRPG series. XSEED announced via press conference that the three games they’ve released in North America-Trails in the Sky First Chapter, Trails in the Sky Second Chapter, and Trails of Cold Steel– had sold 350,000 copies.
Later in the day, XSEED announced the title for which fans were hoping, coming to PC in 2017.
Along with Trails in the Sky the 3rd, XSEED showcased Cold Steel II localized screenshots, coming to PS3 and PS Vita in Fall of 2016.
In celebration, XSEED announced a sale for the previous Trails in the Sky titles on Windows PC and PlayStation Store. Trails in the Sky First Chapter will be sold at 50% off its original price, and Trails in the Sky Second Chapter 30% off its original price. The sale started on March 11, 2016, and will last for one week to March 18, 2016.
