Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt Red, has reported the Witcher series’ sales in a recent earnings report. Kasinki reported that the Witcher video game franchise, including The Witcher (2007), The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (2011), and The Witcher 3 (2015), has sold 20 million copies as a whole.
According to the developer of the popular RPG, Witcher 3 “constitutes almost ten million” or half of the total sales for the franchise. That is no surprise to gamers; the report also denoted how The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won “over eight hundred awards, including two hundred fifty Game of the Year awards.” CD Projekt Red obtained “over thirty global Developer of the Year trophies.”
In 2015, the company generated around $206 million in revenue, with $88 million in profits. CD Projekt Red saw an 830% growth in revenue from 2014 to 2015.
